My lower dogbone mount bolt that goes up into the tranny. The threads in the tranny are stripped. This is a for a vr6. Someone told me to use a helicoil to fix this..... Where can I get this done or do any of you know how???
Re: anyone know how to install a helicoil...ill pay you. (Jettaway)
Go to a good auto parts store maybe even Home Depot and tell them you need a helicoil kit for whatever size bolt you need the helicoil for. The kit will come with a drill bit, tap and a tool to install the helicoil. Not very hard to do. Drill out the stripped hole. Use the tap to rethread the hole for the size of the helicoil. Thread the helicoil into the threaded hole with the tool supplied in the kit. Now you have a perfectly threaded hole to attach the dogbone mount to.
