Anyone know where I can get new knee bolster?

I just want the drivers side in good condition black. If I can find a cheap one I would like to install my stereo head next to my left knee as to keep a more stealth look to my whole car. I dont want to do this to my stock ones, because if it doesnt turn out that would really suck!

I dont know, I will have to take some measurements and see if it would even be semi-comfortable to reach down instead of up, I will let you know..... any idea how much $$$?
Re: Anyone know where I can get new knee bolster? (B(C)orrado)

probably like $25-30 shipped but i have to check the condition when i see it i believe it is mint though

Something to think about, behind the knee bar is a metal bar, pretty thick, you have some major cutting ahead of you

You can also try Cambel Nelson autowrecking in Edmonds WA http://www.findusedparts.com (they seem to get all the wrecked Corrados in the NW)

I won't say impossible but I will say LOTS OF WORK for something that won't be what you pictured. Plus that bar is helpful for stregnth. good luck. I have a black bolster. Frank

you want to do this for theft reasons or just want to clean up the dash area?

I also need a black knee bar as well for the drivers side, if anyone has anything around.
Re: Anyone know where I can get new knee bolster? (crazy-legs)

well, my reasoning is to keep it out of the "quick flashlight scan" of the car when theaves are arond..... all my amps/subs are under a fake floor in the trunk, so the ONLY thing showing off my stereo is the stock speaker covers...woohoo, and a stereo head. If I keep the head out of the dash I figure less chance of a break in. I dont think its worth the work though, but is that metal bar THAT hard to cut with a cutting blade on a drill/dremel? If the metal stereo is in there that would bring the strength back to it wouldnt it? Im talkin about havin the face flush with the top edge of the bolster and letting the rest head diagonally down and back into the bolster.

Pull off the knee bolster cover and you'll see how much work is involved in cutting it
Don't worry about strenght because the Corrado was orginally designed without that bar (the euro shelves don't use the bar) All non U.S. Corrados don't have it and do just fine

I can attest to what Cramer said about the metal in there. I had to have mine cut when I had my hand controls put in, and it is a pain in the @ss!
It is really strong thin metal, but I am sure if you had the desire you could get it finished alright. Would be a lot of cutting and they have really glued down the material behind the pleather, so it is difficult as well to get out and make it look really nice.
You could see mine in person if you wanted, you can kinda see the metal and what the underside looks like.

to be politically correct, i believe he is paralyzed from the waist down from a motorcycle accident. come to think of it, my uncle has a wooden leg from a motorcycle accident, and my girlfriend's friend is in the same situation, from the same ordeal...
makes me not want to get a bike. no matter how careful you are, there's always that one piece of $hit that "didn't see him!"... matter of fact, i believe 2 guys from the CCA died this way.
pretty sad

I SELL THE KNEE BOLSTERS IN CARBON FIBER. THE PAIR WEIGHTS LESS THAN ONE POUND. I HAVE MADE AND SOLD A COUPLE OF SETS AND THEY ARE VERY NICE. AND ABOUT THE STEAL BAR. NO CUTTING REQUIRED JUST UNBOLT IT AND SLIDE IT OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE. VERY EASY AND YOU WILL LOOSE 30 POUNDS.
