I'm thinking of trying them out on my 2.0 16v. I know they cost a little more than a regular Bosch plug but they claim to provide a most efficient spark that helps with poor fuel/air ratios and rough idle. Does anyone have any experience with them? If they're no good, I will go with Beru Silverstones then.

Never heard of them. The old rule of thumb was that for Japanese cars, use Japanese electricals, for German cars, use German electricals and for American cars, use whatever's cheap.

I have heard of them but haven't heard much about them. I would just use what VW used when they built your car.
As far as the Japanese cars, use Japanese electricals comments... VR6 cars came with NGK plug from the factory.

the only three brands to use in a alum head in the order i ask for them
bosh platinum
nippon denso
ngk
all the guys say use bosh silvers ..and yes they are better than most but a platinun plug will last twice as long while producing the same performance results ..and do not us the multi electrode plugs ..high cost and major manifactur hype is all u get with them ..not more performance........ just cause your wallet is lighter dosent mean your cars faster.....o these brands only cause they are the only ones that roll the threads for alum so they dont gall and pull your threads out ...and the brands listed are the best for any motor is been proven

But platinum plgus are not good for 16v engines. The spark temp is way too hot and cause hot spot deposits on the valves and plaque on cylinder linings. That's why the factory doesn't suggest platinums for 16v.

I haven't used Bosch Platimums in years b/c they didn't do much except lighten my wallet. I've been quite pleased with the Silvers (multi-electrode). The NGKs simply didn't last - 15K miles of street/autocross and they were trash.
BTW, who proved that the aforementioned work? I'm always looking to get a bit more power from the ole General Li

i have put 30 thousand miles on my last set of plat and they were fine ....and they only cost 10 cents more each so 40 cents isnt going to lighten your wallet to much i hope.........beleive what u want i am just stating well documented facts .....and if u get plugs in the rite heat range ...no wories on the hot spots ...i usually run atleats one grade colder with any plug and any car cause of my driving style..and they last longer they dont eat themselfs like a hot plug does .....but most of my motors run nos before its over ......

Lots of guys including me used the Iridium plugs with turbos. There isnt enough benefit on an NA to justify the cost but for boost they are nice
