I got a used Oettinger grill in the mail yesterday. It's primed white. The outer surfaces are very smooth and just need a couple of spots sanded before I take it to be painted.
But the priming on the backside is pretty rough. Some has not stuck and now it's flaked a little. And it looks like there are multiple layers of primer on it.
I've cleaned off the flaked paint and will re-prime, but I was just curious.

Mine was white too. I don't know much about paint and prep, so that's why I leave it up to the paint guy. I had to same mine down in a few spots to fit nice. Here's the thread about that: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=205316 Just scroll down until you see my name with a few pictures.
