correct me if I'm wrong......
all euro 1,8's were not the 139 hp "KR" engine that came with the 50mm
what is the other engine code / hp? and does anyone know what the diameter would have been (40)??

Re: Are the 1.8L and 2.0L 16V intake manifolds the same? (88Jetta)

The 1.8 here in the states is engine code PL, rated at 123 hp. It was also offered in Europe, as it was considered "green" and was catalyst equipped. Came with the 40mm.

Not all euro KR 139 bhp had the 50 mm manifold, many had the 40 mm. Only during the years 87 -88 Golf/Jetta are there cars equipped with the 50 mm manifold. I'm not sure about the scirocco because there aren't that many 16V's in Sweden.
