He might as well wrapped them over the hood and stuck them through the front grill. Wow.

HA ha... check out the chick in the back pointing.
"Look at that rice rocket! Tee hee!"

NO, see, with them pointing up like that he is using the force of the exhaust exiting to give extra downforce. The spoiler isnt enough

It's a good thing he has those.
As we all know, those 4cyl. engines need to breathe. Thank god his exhaust isn't too restrictive.
It reminds me of all the Neons I see running around here with dual exhausts lately. Clueless is as clueless does.

That's a Toyota Celsior, and if I'm not wrong, it's same car as a Lexus LS400. 8 cylinders means that 2 cylinders shares each tail pipe. Just about enough to keep the backpressure at nominal levels.

GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mean that menace is supposed to be a luxury car??
It's bad enough to do that to a honda, but to something like that......Sick & Wrong!
Re: Are these tips too aggressive? (JayB)

Is it me or is that left rear towed in just a whisker too much?
This just represents a styling trend (yes, its a trend) in Japan. I've seen bunches of sedans modded that way. I've also seen those pipes on a 180SX and a Wagon R.

Yep. It's called "Yanky Style" I believe... Not sure what the origin of the name is, but I assume it's a lot like how, in the US, a lowrider made out of a Sentra is called a "Euro".
It's most popular on big luxury cars (Celsior, Cima) and on older cars like early '70s Skylines.
They always have the big pipes, big spoilers, and candy color paint... usually lots of (-) camber and old-school, small-but-wide racing wheels.

It's a trend alright, but it has a distinct lack of style.

See, what them there pipes do is speed up the drying process of the clothes hanging to dry on the rear massive spoiler

And it's a "trend" that has been around since about '74 (at least, that was the earliest I saw it in Japanese car magazines). pretty long term "trend." More like a cultural genre, like lowriders are here.
