When the new MKV is going to come out are you going to drop your current MK4 and just move on to the newer....????
Nobody knows what it's going to look like until they present it to the world during some show coming up in September..
I did find some pics floating around here and there

Re: Are you dropping the MKIV for the MKV ? (kamil)

I kinda like it, any pics of the 04 GTi?
Most people won't like it at first, but I gaurantee it'll grow on them like the MKIV did. I didn't like it when it first came out...now I love it.

04's are gonna be mkiv's...so, there are plent of pics of those in here...
i think if the mkv looks anything like the pics above, i won't be touching it w/ a ten foot pole...i think those tail lights are RICEY as all hell, and the headlights look a lot too much like a toyota matrix...

I agree, some of the little things like the lights and such don't do it for me...but as you know most cars don't end up looking like their pre production sketches/photos. I bet a lot of these little things will work themselves out and will look much better in the production version.

Nope. Doesn't make sense financially -- but there again I own my Jetta outright (it'll be in my garage 5 years from now). If I were leasing, maybe I'd think about it.

I like my car and there is still much work to be done to it. I'll be keeping it for awhile.

I probably will keep the MK IV until I see what VW has to offer first on the first year of the MK V. If VW has their act together from the start of the 2005 models, and the engines are updated with more power available, then I would dump my MkIV GTI VR6 as soon as I could.

uuuuuurgh!!! that thing is the biggest roach I've ever seen! There is no way in hell I would ever buy that haha. I really cant see that being the new golf-it looks way to much like the new civic hatchback. VW knows that people are fans of there strong bmw/euro like angles and styling....well, unless they're going for the honda fan base, who knows, lol, just hope that thing never ever comes out!

You know you're right. I garuntee that VW will do what every other stupid car company is doing and makes those tail lights into stock altezza's. Honestly for me even consider a mk5 they would have to fix all the lil quirks of the mk4, and step up on the customer service.

Not just no, but Hell NO http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
If anything, I will get another MKIV, MKIII, A2, or A1 before I purchase an MKV http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Keeping my current MKIV Jetta, planning on getting another VW, but I think it will be another MKIV.

My lease is up in 2005 and at the moment I am shooting for an Audi A/S3 or a BMW 1 or 3 Series, depending on my financial situation. I may also check out whatever VW special editions are floating around at the time, but I hope to be able to upgrade.

exactly. I still don't understand why VW waited so long to release the R32. Is it only going to be produced for one year. Because it hasn't even hit US shores yet, and 2005 is 1.5 years away. If they were to release the R32 in late 2001, at least VW could compete in this HP war that's going on between auto manufacturers. VW seems to be too little, too late. And it makes me wonder why they are releasing such an awesome car near the end of the MK4's lifecycle?
