I have option to buy 2001 A4 2.8L quattro wagon, 280k miles. Guy only wants $1k for it. Given the low price, would I be a total d*ick for asking for a pre-purchase inspection? Guy doesn't have any service records.
If not, I'm at least going to get a post-purchase inspection. Local VW/Audi shop will do it for $120. I'd even be willing to pay for the PPI even if I don't buy it.
So specific to this car and in general, at what price point should I just risk it and buy the car?
