i know the 1.8T in the 225 TT is differant than the other ones in the volks/audi line up, so given that, what would it take to get it into the 13's short of a turbo swap?
what quarter mile times are chipped 225 tt's running?
thanks for any help you guys can give me.
i would have posted this in the TT forum or at audi world, but no one goes to the TT forum and audi world forums are hard to navigate.
thanks again

Re: audi tt 1.8T questions.. (Ak_TTuner)

225's can squeeze into the 13's if all of the bolt ons are done (chip, exhaust etc..) Low 13's will most likely mean a turbo swap.
APR is working on a kit that I would estimate to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 350hp on pump gas

Re: audi tt 1.8T questions.. (hoTTub)

could you please reccomend places to buy the bolt-ons you mentioned?
i cant seem to find a downpipe for the 225 TT. and is there a 3" turbo back exaust for the 225?
im thinking about buying the following products:
giac chip
borla or lltek exaust
evo or nuspeed intake

Re: audi tt 1.8T questions.. (Ak_TTuner)

No one is making a 3" DP for the 225 yet that is available to buy, if there are any, it was probably custom made.
If I were building up a 225 right now with what is available:
-APR Chip
-Velocimax 3" exhaust (UUC Motorwerks) or Milltek Catback
-Custom Downpipe
-Milltek Hi-Flo cats from Stratmosphere
That should get you into the 13's if you can rive

Checkout http://www.audiworld.com/forum/tt.html
There are alot more owners there, I love the Vortex as well, but the TT owners dont get over here much

Re: audi tt 1.8T questions.. (Jstanovic)

GTI/Jetta 1.8T (150/180hp) and the Audi TT 1.8T (180) are basically the same exact motor.
The TT 225hp has a few more changes that gets it up to 225.
GTI/Jetta/TT (180) vs TT (225)
-KO3 Turbo vs KO4 turbo
-1 intercooler vs 2 intercoolers
-forgot compression ratio vs lower compression ratio

-standard intake manifold vs. larger intake manifold.
It is also speculated that the 225 has strengthened internals (rods, crank etc) but the ETKA shows the same part #'s

when is this 350hp apr kit supposed to be out?

Maybe by the end of the year....hard to tell with them. They like to perfect things before they release it

Re: audi tt 1.8T questions.. (ian c - U.K.)

Sean, Sean, Sean - never believe ETKA - it's not always correct. The Engineering Paper I have from Audi identifies that not only are there stregnthened internals - but the block is also reinforced. The rods are the same but the bottom end rod bearings, the wrist pins and pistons are all different. The intake and MAF are larger, the downpipe is larger, the entire exhaust system is larger etc. The K04 is also a different K04 from those available on the aftermarket as it is larger as well.
