Re: audi tt turbo help!! Where and how to rebuild a turbo? (LO-vw)

there is another post about this, but basically you need exh. manifold, DP, Inlet pipe, IC pipe, and oil and water lines...
And a chip, of course!

i think you can send it out to maybe a company like turbo majestic and get it reworked. way to go picking that piece up, hope to see you at the tracks this spring/summer.

Normally I would say use the search but that's not even necessary when a thread on the exact same subject is 10 lines down from yours...

I don't know how much you paid for the used turbo so there's no way to tell if it would be better to buy a new one instead. Grab your local Yellow Pages and look for a local shop that specializes in rebuilding turbos.

yes and no. most of my good dub friends:
'98 GLXer
'95 Jetta 2.0er
'96(?) GTI 2.0er
'00 Passat V6
but there are still about 5 from 20vturbo in the area, although i don't talk to them regularly besides the boards. although i stop and see Eric and Mark up at Murray's in Rochester from time to time. they're always good for some ineresting conversations
i'll more than likely be at the track a couple times this summer with my supercharged GT, Z28, crate engine Sierra, and a few other friends. my T3/T4 kit is going on hold for a bit. i've bought the turbo, and i just ordered the FMIC, but it's pausing there. i'm actually interviewing for a VW sales job at Suburban VW in Troy on tuesday the 12th. if i get it and decide to take it, turbo kit's gonna sit a spell just in case i'm not rolling out huge paychecks the first few months http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
**forgot the Passat, doh!**

For the power your going to end up getting I would say you might want to rethink the upgrade. You might get 280 crank HP out of that turbo with some serious mods like Manifold, DP, Intake and such ALL of which have NOT been made yet. For 2400 or so your better off getting a T3 "kit" or build your own for a bit cheaper, since all the parts and software is out there already!
