Hey guys,
I"m kinda new to the vw world. I've always heard of the Autotech SS. I was reading a post earlier about an autotech shifter (audi). Is that the same thing. The part is an audi part that we can get from the dealership? thanks in advance..please give me as much info as possible. I'm looking to get a short shifter for the gti's are too long.

Yes, it’s an Audi part and you can obtain it from the dealer. Unfortunately I don’t have the part number because I bought the Autotech version. In my opinion this is one of the best mods I’ve done yet.

Autotech rebrands and sells the shift linkage from an Audi TT five speed. The part number for the Audi part is 8N0711051. The part reduces your shift throw about 20%. If you want a greater reduction look into the Neuspeed, Dieselgeek (same reduction but also includes a part to reduce horizontal throw), or Concept-1 kits.

true -- the Audi part number listed above will NOT work for 2002's. The Autotech part will.
Not sure if the Autotech part for the 2002's is from a "new" Audi TT or if it is a re-machined "old" Audi part.
