Although I brought my own oil/filter... The service here was very professional... he took his time and treated my car with care.

Flush is a good idea and risky at the same time. If your engine has sludge issues then it may cause problems.

Lucas has gone in about 6 or 7 oil changes, to help oil consumption problem. I want to stop using that as well, to flush or not to flush that is the question.

Lucas causes oil foaming. Check out http://bobistheoilguy.com/ for the tests which prove it.
If you have an oil burning problem, step up to a higher viscosity instead of using Lucas.
An engine oil flush chemical is used on severely dirty engines where the oil wasn't changed enough, or if the engine has sludge. It isn't necessary to flush the oil if you are switching from conventional to synthetic oil.
Audi increased the size of their oil filter to help resolve an oil sludging problem. See if you can install a larger oil filter, an Audi one might fit. Perjad will know.
I have heard great reviews about SeaFoam cleaners, although any cleaner should do the job well. Since the 2.0L has sludge issues, it would be a good idea to flush it. Some people don't like the idea of using engine flush chemicals since they are hard on the bearings and all metal surfaces, but that is a lesser evil to plugged oil galleries - which would cause oil starvation.
Synthetic oil won't burn quicker than conventional, so you are okay in that department.

you can always go with Motul Engine Clean and Fuel system clean for the gas or Diesel System clean for the diesel motors. That stuff is awesome.
