depending which kit you are talking about have or could have, The kit is more than just a larger bore... I was reading the autotech catalog the other day, and think I remember it saying that the 2.1l kit has a lightened and knife edged crank shaft... although they say it is made for a 2L starting point... the 2.0L kit is just basically a kit to make our 1.8's a 2.0L...
I am at the same type of point in tuning my engine right now, and I think I am just gonna find a 2.0L bottom end and get that cleaned up and rebuilt, and if you are doing the installation I think it will be less than one of those kits....although it depends what you can get the kit for I guess. good luck either way.
