hey i'm in HB, anyways is it worth it then to get chipped at all. i'm trying as hard as i can to get some extra ponnies from my 2.0. right now i have a intake and exhaust. i know the chip is not going to perform miracles but i need to do something that won't break my wallet. i might also look into AMS since they are right down the street from my work. thanks and grazie to anyone else who has an opinion. i'm going to have a

On the newer MK4s the gain is minimal. Maybe 5 hp if you are lucky. I guess what I am trying to say is compared to chipping my 96 GTi, chipping the MK4 was not worth it. Seemed that on the MK3 you could at least take advantage of the extra RPM the chipped allowed (higher rev limit) but on the MK4s the power band is so low that revving it past 5500 stock or chipped just doesn't do much except make a lot of noise. I feel (felt) your pain and short of a NS supercharger I don't know what to tell you. I tried chips, a p-flo, a cam from TT and it just didn't do much. Then I tried a 1.8t and my quest for more power was cured. It cost me less than the cost of a NS Supercharger to get out of my NB and into my GTi.

i went with the p-chip since it was under $150 on sale at ND for the mk4 2.0... anyone running the same chip have any reviews on how they like their p-chip. i hope it wasn't a waste of money it should be in the car w/i a few days
