Figured I'd share this side project I just started:

Bell Intercooler core:
AW6000251341814
A=6"
B=2.5"
c=13.4"
$272.10 shipped. Bell claimed it was good for 450whp, which should just be fine for my ~350-400whp goal.

Going to end up in this:

Going this route to make room for a big ass radiator up front so I won't overheat in traffic.
VRT mk1 life aint easy.

The CNC's pretty much always have jobs on them so it's manual for personal projects most of the time:

2.5" is the slimmest core I could get in this arrangement, but there is enough hood clearance.

Next up is the water inlet/outlet endtanks for the core.

Time to start cutting more out of the plenum runners and blending it.

Looks good

Thanks, goofy projects are the best kind!

End tank number one is pretty much done:

Just some chamfers for weld prep and an -10AN fitting left.

why not just remove the plug wire holes and run the wires under the manifold?
easier to change plugs/wires and compression checks. As silly as it sounds. since I'm using the cast manifold I like the 'idea' of keeping oem functionality. Probably would take me less time to build the whole thing from scratch, but here I am.

no i understand. i run my wires under the manifold to help clean up the bay and i like to hand grab the boots vs. hope the tool is working properly. work is looking great!
:thumbup:

More or less done:

I might smooth a few more edges out, we'll see.

Took me a couple days to sweet talk the boss into letting me cut this piece out of his fixture 1" 6061 stash:

Way oversized for throttle body placement and I wanted the whole manifold attached to one piece for some extra strength. Much more material to come off.
