I have a 2001 B5 4mo Variant and the temp gauge cuts out sporadically and registers nothing but then will come back to a normal reading. I'm still under warranty so I'm going to take it in but just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Yes, and so have others. There have been past threads on this. Its usually the sender, so exercise your warranty.

Where exactly is the Temperature sening unit located on the car..... I'm having the same problem with my Temp. Gauge and the Warrany has just expired 2 months ago....... Please help me out...Thankxxx!

Remove your intake hose from the throttle body. Look down under that at the passenger side rear of the engine. You'll see it sticking out of the coolant tube. I have the updated "green" one if you want it. $20. I bought it before I remembered my Mastergard warranty.

Thankxxxx for helping me out....I removed the intake hose and was looking for the Temp. sending unit but don't know what it looks like.... Can you point me in the right direction? Will the part you have work in a 2000 V6 engine?
