back from Mardi Gras'n - I have a question about a "creak"

I got this creak that comes form under the rear interior trim panel in the body. Lets see if i can explain this - I take the panel off and let my girlfriend drive, now it doesn't just take large bumps, but also undulations in the road and i get this creak. I've located it excatly - its in the body work. Its like two sheet metal panels are formed together and it makes like a long hump that runs the horizontally about two inches below the window line the length of the body from the back seat to where the tweeter is or so with a seam on top where the two panels meet (i think this may be the culprit - but not sure). Well the creak is in this piece about 4 inches from where the back of the seat sits against the car just below the window. I mean i can put my finger right on it.
Now the question is what can i do about it. I tried lithum grease. the next thing i thought about was taking a punch and jus dinging up the long hump the length of it hoping to put the metal in a tighter bind -or somthing like that, and maybe that would stop the creak. I didn't do this b/c it didn't sound very scientific.
Help. . . please . . . going mad . . . mad I say

I know this sounds dumb, but have you tried to grease the latch where the rear seat locks into place? For some reason, I had a creak too, every time I drove into out driveway (a VERY awkward angle). I searched and I thought it was part of the package tray. Ended up being the latch that secured the rear seat to the locked position. Hit that with some silicon spray and see if that doesn't help.

ah, yes. This I did - and it did fix THAT creak - but this on is very spot specific - even my gf could spot it when she was in the back seat.
Thanks anyway for trying.
