Something is wrong with my Rado it back fires everytime I shift in gears and I get real bad mileage, Car is been like that since I bought so I don't really know if I am loosing anypowers, car is running pretty strong don't have any major problems just it idles sometimes like when I put in a neutral while I am driving RPM's drops all the way to 400-500 and then goes back up to 900, and every time I try to take off smoothly it starts viabrating the car/interior. If anybody knows what could be causing this please post it.. I did tune up month ago and got all new mounts

Re: Backfiring Need Help (Kavkazia)

initial guess would be O2 sensor, but we need more info.
does it puff black smoke out when it's running like garbage?
Check your vacuum line to the ECU as well. Make sure it isn't f'd up.

On top of the throttle body, there are two switches - a full throttle switch and a idle switch. Find where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle arm on top of the throttle body. It should be obvious where the two switches are, and which one does what. To test them, unplug the wiring harness down behind the throttle body that connects those two switches to the car's wiring.
there are a couple pins in that plug, basically you use a multimeter or ohm-meter to test for a complete circuit across certain pins when each switch is closed. I don't remember which pins for each switch, but it is pretty straightforward. You just put the test leads on two of the pins, and move the throttle arm to close either switch. You should get continuity across a different set of pins for each switch.

My next guess would be lack of fuel. Either clogged injectors or filter... maybe a bad fpr or ailing fuel pump causing low fuel pressure, and a lean condition. Find out if whether you have the single or dual fuel pump setup from the factory... sometimes one goes bad on the dual setup and becomes a restriction to fuel flow.
One more thing, have you're ignition checked out. plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Try a new distributor if you can after the above. A bad hall sensor in the distributor will throw the computer and timing out of whack.
Also have the alignment of the camshaft with the crank and intermediate shafts. One tooth off can cause wacky things to happen.
