I have the car in reverese, and run a test light to the plugs on the tranny....and nothing is hot.....is there something in the tranny I can look at??
Am I testing this right??
Tranny is from a 85 GTI I believe, in a 91 GTI......
Fuse is in working order as well...

just switch the key to ACC postion and put the transmission in reverse, run around back and look for yourself.

ussually those plugs on the tranny go bad, thatd be the first place id look. i dunno if you can buy a new one or not. or maybe the blulbs..but if both arent working its usually not the bulbs

It was working fine before we did the engine/tranny swap....so the wires and bulbs are fine....
Has to be something within the tranny......
Anyone else shed some light on how the backup light works inside the tranny?
