My FM reception comes in crystal clear, but my AM reception is full of static no matter what station. It used to be perfectly fine, but little by little, my AM reception deteriorated. Has anyone had any such thing happen? I don't know if it's the antenna, but seems like if it were, the FM wouldn't be working.

Are you using a stubby antenna?
I was having problems with both FM and AM when i had my super short stubby on there.. Maybe its the same deal (went from a 3" antenna to a 5" antenna and have no problems anymore)

Actually I'm using a stubby antenna as well, but I don't have any problems with AM/FM reception. Maybe it depends on where you live? *shrugs*

i wouldnt sweat it, i mean do ppl really listen to am anymore? if u want good talk shows get some xm radio http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif i have an oem stubby, looks like the stock but have the size..works great

I know maryland's traffic authority uses AM stations to announce accidents, traffic jams, and sometimes even weather conditions.

AM is really only good for news nowadays....which i only need the news on my radio during a massive thunderstorm/tornados...which ironically kills out any AM radio signal.

i got xm a yr and half b4 he started with siruis. it sux i used to listen to him sometimes b4 i went to school b4 he went to satellite. i dont mind that much i rather listen to music

True.. But most of the subscribers to sirius joined up after he moved.

To the OP: Do you have a stock sound system or did you change anything around? It may be your power antenna in the back of the head unit too.

just go to the Honda dealer and buy an OEM S2000 antenna for 30 bucks.. thats what i did and the reception is great and it look good too http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Known problem with some MkIV's.
Likely culprit is in the base or mount from inside of car.

I got one off Ebay for $15 shipped.. Looks great and works
