bad coil pack im guessing need help

I was driving my car and when i hit full boost my car started to make a weird noise and it wouldnt boost after that and the check engine light started flashing. The exhaust started making a weird noise and it wouldnt excelerate hardly at all. I was close to home so i just went 10mph and parked it because i was scared it could do damage. i started by pulling off the back of each coil pack to see if one wouldnt change the engine noise so i would know which one it is but they all changed the engine noise. do i have to have a obd II reader to check which cylinder is misfiring?? thxx

Great first test for bad coils, though from the results it seems your misfire is more due to a spark plug issue than a coil issue. See the FAQ for replacement spark plug recommendations and gaping.

you should do it yourself its take 15 mins max took me 5 its not hard you unlpug them pull the ignition coil out pop the new one in in your case put gasket on and bolt it to the valve cover you will save money.

i bought 4 new sti bolt downs, it runs good now. i just need to do some fine tuning and then i will be happy. i have apr ko4 software and ever since i got it when i really punch it my car bogs down a lil bit. im going to get some diagnostics and hopefully see whats wrong.
what plugs do you have and wat did u gap them to?
Re: (cashmoneyflo)

i found out that one of my new bolt down coil packs that i put in was faulty. everything is perfect now.
You bought 4 sti coil packs?
Care to elaborate?
The brand name is sti, look them up. i dnno what you want me to elaborate on? i was pretty specific
Well, for me, STI = Subaru... So, that was the reason I wanted you to elaborate. But, since it's a brand, that pretty much sums it up http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Thanks!
