nothing personal, but i m tired of people posting pics of stock cars. i know there will be no pix of my car until its done <and with my cracked engine block lawsuit i m looking at some serious delays>. all you people posting pics of stock cars: your cars look great! just like the ones in the dealership brochures. now, i know theres going to be people going if u dont like it dont look at it, etc but theres plenty of "hey look at my car" posts and its stock with like clear corners or a kamei grill or something. what do u think?

personally, i feel that it is something that people can either love or hate. with my old car, a 1983 mercedes 240d, i loved seeing pictures of the cars in their stock form, but that is because i hated when people changed them. with dubs its a little different, although i love seeing them no matter what, i can see how one would get annoyed. people will do what they want to do, and more then likely vortex employees will not make it a formal banning, so it is probably more of a waste to have this poll then to just let them keep posting. i dont mind it, obviously, but wouldnt be opposed to either one...

about the "hey look at my car" posts and its stock with like clear corners or a kamei grill or something- this is fine, how can you really tell if there is more done or not? at least theres something!! my car is pretty much dead stock, and i have not one picture of it even on the internet, but thats cause im cheap and cant afford a digicam.
my opinion probably doesnt matter

just thought of something else- it isnt a "modded mkiv" forum... its just a mkiv forum... they will just say "o well" maybe there should be a new poll to start a new forum or to divide this forum into "modded" and "stock" dont know how far it would go, but its worth a shot...

Not that it would happen, but if you ban pictures of plain jane cars, you are being awfully elitist. I thought this was a place for VW enthusiasts to show off their cars, talk shop, and help each other out. Granted, 90% of the people here are mod-happy performance freaks, but I assure you that there are many regular old commuters who also enjoy the forum for technical advice and social commentary. Perhaps you could start your own performance-only forum and showcase pictures of all of your whiz-bang parts and pieces. In that case, you could have a policy that dictates "modded only" (even then, what is modded enough? window tint? sunglass holder?).

How about not clicking on the post. One of the great things about someone getting a new car is showing it to people (you know that feeling you get when someone else says wow nice car). You wanna take that away from people because you are tired of seeing a post about it. If someone is happy about getting a new dub and they wanna show it off i say let them. Shutup and dont click on it if you dont like it.

thanx for the insight, but i already covered this in my initial post. even more annoying than pics of stock cars are people who cant read. how bout if you have nothing to contribute, you refrain from posting... ok?
