BBS Rims..on 1.8tWB

Does anybody know the exact size across of the bbs on the 2001 WB....the stock tires suck...has anybody gone alil wider on these i saw a post for someone that went to 225 across...I guess I would stay the same profile...which is 50...will they fit on the rims ..?does anybody have experiance with putting new tires on this rim?what rubber the best to put on for a daily driver and all weather conditions....thanks for the help

this is really a g4/j4 forum question...
staying 50 series when going from a 205 -> 225 tire WILL change the overall size...
the circumference would go from 75.6 inches to 78.1 inches, making your speedometer around 3.3% slow, or off by 3.3 mph when doing 100mph...
the wolfsburg bbs rims are 6.5" wide, i'm 99% sure...

what size should i go to then.....45series?....want to keep it as close to stock...the rolling circumference

45 series would bring you down to .4% different from stock, which is essentially no difference from stock. you could gain / lose .4% with different inflation of stock tires...
not sure what they'd look like though, they might be bulging a lot. call tirerack and ask...
there are certainly a lot of good choices in that size though...

As you were told earlier - you'll have a better chance getting your question answered in the Mk4 forum - your question doesn't have to do with the 1.8T motor itself...

well im kind of new to vortex ....how do i move it over to that forum?...also i figure more people have the vw oem bbs on the 1.8t because thats how the car came stock..and the rims where only on the 1.8t :

The stock size is 205/55/16, not 50, but a 225/50/16 will fit. I asked the same question and a guy posted pictures for me. type in "bbs" in the search and put my username "1.8wolf" in the creator feild and it will come up.
