you should only really need to pull the harness from the bay...just unclip the colored plugs from the drivers side access panel that connect the engine harness to the body harness....then the other side of the engine harness should just come out of the bay only....really shouldnt take too long
p.s. - just read that you were planning on pulling the dash...you really should not need to do that for a swap....unless you planning on going crazy and tucking wires and such while your in there....and actually unless your shaving the rain tray there is still not much use in pulling the dash:thumbup:

I figured I had to do the whole harness motor/ body since I was switching for tdi to vr6. Didnt think it was plug and play since I have to switch the cluster and what not. If not I just wasted 5 hrs.
I have such a headache right now. Sitting here trying to figure out if I just spent have the day doing a bunch of work I didnt need to do. Still dont know. I figured switching for diesel to a vr that Id have to swap the whole harness (body, motor) not just he motor. I know I have to change the cluster and I figured the plugs in the rain train would be different than the ones on the vr motor harness. Could some one clear this up for me? On the upside pulling the dash I was able to remove the heater core. I need a :laugh:
