Bentley announced today their partnership with Absolute Racing, who will campaign a Continental GT3 race car in China's GT Asia series.  Becoming official at last weekend's iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000 km, the partnership hopes to put a Bentley in victory lane in one of the marque's most pivotal markets.  Bentley and Absolute Racing will display their car on September 28th, and makes its debut in the GT Asia series at the Shanghai stop in October.

(Crewe, 23 rd  September 2014) Bentley Motorsport announces the next phase of its race-winning Continental GT3 programme, with the signing of a partnership with Absolute Racing in China. The Continental GT3 will make its Chinese race debut in the Shanghai round of the GT Asia series from 10 th  to 12 th  October, following a display appearance at the Shanghai Supercar event on 28 th  September.

Signing the partnership contract with Absolute Racing at the iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000 km race last weekend, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Mr Wolfgang Dürheimer, comments:

“After wins on two continents this year already, developing our GT3 programme further was the natural next step. We have been impressed with Absolute Racing’s operation in China, and I’m very pleased to have them join our expanding motorsport family. I wish them the very best of luck with our new Continental GT3 and look forward to seeing a Bentley racing and hopefully winning in China, one of our most important markets.”

Ingo Matter, Director of Absolute Racing, echoed Mr Dürheimer’s comments:

“We are delighted to be taking the Continental GT3 racing in Greater China. Bentley has already shown that their car is a race winner in Europe and in America, and we’ll be doing everything we can to score the same success in China. We’ve received our car and we’re already preparing for our first race in Shanghai, where we hope to be able to compete with the fastest competitors straight away.”

Following the Asia GT competition at Shanghai, Absolute Racing will race their Continental GT3 at the Macau GT race over 13 th  to 16 th November. Driving at both events will be Jean Karl Vernay, a highly skilled and experienced GT driver who won the GTE AM class at the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished third in the 2013 GTE AM World Endurance Championship.
