Are there any good ones for this price? I would like something with a pager............
I am just starting my research on alarms, so please forgive my ignorance. I am just trying to get an idea of where to start.
Thanks.

Why do you want one with pager?
Are you gonna try to stop theft/break-in in progress? Don't, that's why you got insurance (unless you have concealed carry permit
)

I noticed that they own most of the security systems out there.......pretty interesting.........

My buddy who owns a stereo shop loves the Ungo, but they are going to be bought out by DEI. The best alarm out there is probably the Compustar. It was developed in 1998. The alarm remote has a lcd display that has a car on it and when your alarm is activated, it will flash on the remote what part of the car is being tampered with. (paging system) It also has a built in turbo timer, so, when the motor shuts down, it will automatically arm the car. It also has remote start, but if you have the switchblade key, you have to take out the transponder, for remote start. I have purchased this alarm myself, just waiting for him to get the time to put it in. It has alot of other cool features as well.

Clifford

I am having the hardest time doing research on car alarms.........
First of all, I can't find anywhere on the internet that sells them. Apparently you can't buy directly from Directed and they give no prices anyways.
Crutchfield only sells one kind......Crimestopper? Anyone know if that is any good?
I was hoping to find some on eBay..........but there isn't much at all there either, which surprised me. I searched for several different brands, and mostly you get replacement pagers and other accessories.
Best Buy sells a couple of Clifford models, but at the store they give literally almost no information about them. I don't want to ask a salesguy there........like they know anything (and I would like truthful info).
Any good websites that sells Directed made brands like Clifford?
Thanks.

I would definitely go with anything made by DEI. I am an installer by trade and I have only owned their products in the past and present. I also work for Best Buy and if you can't get the answers you are looking for from the salesman check the installers out. If not, send me a message, I will certainly help you out.

That's a good question, I read that article about the Crimestopper alarms in Crutchfield and from what I READ it sound pretty good, does anyone know for sure if they are good or not? Thanks
