My 86 GTi is raced on a 1/2 mile oval speedway,and here is the list of modifications done so far:(CIS-E system)
268 TT hydro cam
head milled .045"
dual outlet E/M & D/P from 94 Golf
Cherry bomb muffler
head & manifolds matched ported
3 angle valve job
swiss cheesed airbox
new lightened & balanced flywheel
AWY transmission
homemade big intake tube
16v knock box
16v T/B
Brand new ring job
The rest of the motor is stock. Forced induction is not allowedper speedway rules.Thanks for your opinion!

How about the VW motorsports Euro distributor, excellent upgrade, but there is no provision for the o2 sensor, it is basic mechanical injection, similar to just CIS. This is an increase of 5-8% in horsepower according to http://www.bildon.com, they sell a ton of VW motorsport goods.

How about the stock one!!!! Combined with a Power Module from Autotech it will allow you to get the mixture perfect !!! The euro stuff cant come close and is for people that can settle for less power !!! Use an early ignition harness from a rabbit GTI to lock the timing and set it to 29 degrees BTDC and only adjust it on the dyno. Set Power module to 5 or6 and try it.
This will make better power than anything previously mentioned and is simple to tune.
