Bilstein has announced an extension of their partnership with the legendary Nürburgring for another five years.  As part of the agreement, Bilstein will retain naming rights for a grandstand at the circuit, the GP course's 'Bilstein Bend', and prominent ad placement around the facility.  The company will also continue to heavily test all products at the famous 20.8km circuit, which puts unparalleled strain on suspension components in extremely little time.

  • Cooperation for another five years

Nürburg, Ennepetal. There are combinations that are simply unparalleled – such as that of the tradition-steeped Eifel race track and the suspension expert BILSTEIN.  The strain put on suspensions during 20.832 km in the “Green Hell” equals that of 365 days of trips from Hamburg to Munich – only faster.

BILSTEIN and the Nürburgring have been partners for decades and now this partnership has been expanded and extended by another five years. “The partnership between BILSTEIN and the Nürburgring has been very successful in recent years. This is why we are delighted that BILSTEIN will remain a partner of the Nürburgring in the future,” says Carsten Schumacher, managing director of capricorn NÜRBURGRING GmbH. “The Nordschleife plays an important role when it comes to testing and developing our products. The Nürburgring thus contributes significantly to the genuine and already proverbial BILSTEIN driving experience,” stresses Thorsten Schwippert, managing director AfterMarket at ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH.

As a partner, the BILSTEIN brand is of course present on the Nordschleife and also holds the naming right for grandstand T4 – the BILSTEIN stand. This year saw the introduction of the new BILSTEIN bend on the Nürburgring Grand Prix track, behind the Schumacher-S and ahead of the fast ADVAN arch. The bend was officially inaugurated on 12 May 2015 in the run-up to the legendary 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring. Carsten Schumacher, managing director of capricorn NÜRBURGRING GmbH, and Thorsten Schwippert, managing director AfterMarket at ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH, thus sent a joint signal for a continued successful partnership.

For about 60 years, BILSTEIN has been successfully developing shock absorbers and suspensions for use in motorsport, among other things. The Nürburgring Nordschleife is of great significance for product development at BILSTEIN, seeing as there is no comparable race track anywhere in the world that puts such high demands on suspensions. The exclusive label “BILSTEIN-TECHNOLOGY tested on NÜRBURGRING-NORDSCHLEIFE” underlines the suspension specialist’s high quality standards.
