i have an 81 caddy that i want to run bio-diesel but ive been told that the fuel will eat up the natural rubber lines... where do i find synthetic line? im in the portland area if you know a specific place id love to know.
Re: bio-diesel fuel lines... where to find? (pdxcaddy)
Hmmm... none of the lines are natural rubber, as ANY diesel fuel will dissolve natural rubber or neoprene rubber. Just fill it and go... won't hurt a thing.
Re: bio-diesel fuel lines... where to find? (pdxcaddy)
Possibly your question should be: Where can I find injection pump seals that will not be degraded by biodiesel over 20% concentration in petroleum diesel. I hear that the magic word is Viton rubber. I'll need some new seals eventually.
Re: bio-diesel fuel lines... where to find? (pdxcaddy)
good news you will not need new seals for your ip the only thing that
needs to be changed is the return lins form you injectors to the ip replace these with viton and you are good to go

if anyone has been looking for the viton seals they are on sale at greaseworks.org... not too expensive... they also have alot of useful stuff for sale
