Bleeding power steering system?

936 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  AbsoluteNovice
I am removing the high pressure PS hose that runs under the front of the car. The Bentley is very vague in this department on the VR, but on the 2.0 it mentions bleeding the system once its back together. I'm assuming this holds true for the VR but have no idea how to do it. Any advise would be great. Thanks!

Keep the front wheels off of the ground when it is first started and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times and this will bleed the system. It is a self-bleeding system and by turning the wheel from lock to lock with the wheels in the air you will push all of the air out of the system without loading anything and causing damage. Make sure to use the proper hydraulic fluid in the system, no ATF.
