hey guys i just got chipped and its time to replace my dv. what should i do get a bov or a dv. I mean there is all this talk about how peope are trying to get a bov to work with there vdubs... so what shuold i do.. also why shuold i do it??
I have had both a BOV and a DV with intake. The BOV is a lot louder. I had to get rid of my BOV unwillingly. I would recommend the BOV if you want the sound. As far as performance goes, either one will function better than the stock DV.

What did I just say, YOU WILL GET THE SOUND with the intake!

Well, you'll get a similar sound to a quiet BOV, but not near as loud as a BOV like mine. I have had a Forge DV, and TurboXS BOV, BOTH with an open filter CAI and the BOV is still MUCH louder...although the Forge does give a good sound.
Re: blow off valve or diverter valve?? (VWTornado)

I had the ECS Tuning BOV kit. It bolts on, it uses an HKS SSQV, and no CEL. Go to http://www.ecstuning.com it is still selling for $335.00. They have pics of it on their site.

The voice of reason. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I would rather have a BOV anyday, and still want one, just cant get over the side effects that are possible. I wish I could trust them more. I have always wanted a turbo with a BOV, and I end up picking the only turbo car that cant use one effecietly. How ironic.
Well, i'll be running a full Haltech engine management in a while when I do the t3/t4 so the BOV won't matter then. And honestly running rich is better than running lean.
Re: blow off valve or diverter valve?? (VWTornado)
I can't stand this topic anymore...
I use a Turbo XS BOV (25) I picked it for strength over the stock DV.
The BOV is running in DV mode... as you can see Turbo XS recomends you run it that way. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
The BOV bolts right in place of the DV.
Why didn't I buy an aftermarket DV? B/c I did not want too!
And some of them had reliability issues, so I go with a strong unit that works well and has not failed me yet and run it in DV mode.
For those who like to run it in BOV mode...that's up to them.
Bottom line = you can still buy a BOV (for the same price as an aftermarket DV) and run it the way it was meant to run and be safe! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
FWIW
My Turbo XS valve in DV mode with open filter sounds louder than my stock DV with open filter.
