Ok, so I'm going to pick up a Mk2 Jetta for a VR6 swap.. I'm basicly going to be stripping it to a bare shell and putting all new stuff in, so other than being straight I don't really care what the car is like. I'm just curious are there any differences from the earlier to later Mk2s that would make the swap easier, and are there any body/styling differences on certain years that would be desirable? Thanks guys..

Re: Body differences and a couple motor swap questions.. (jasonyates)

Look for a '90 to '92 jetta. They'll have central electric 2, and that'll make wiring a lot easier. I believe the VR6 wiring harness will pretty much plug into the CE2 fusebox. The '90 - '92 will have big doors (one large window), and big bumpers. Most people think those bumpers and doors look better. But aside from the wiring, there isn't really anything else that'll make the swap any easier. Good luck,
eric
