VAG it and check block 032 on engine(01). Also check for any codes.

Bogging problem
I have a 99.5, and lately when we take off my car starts to bogg until it gets to a high enough RPM. It will do it in 1st and 2nd gear. Anyone have an idea? I was thinking maybe the MAF? Any suggestions?

Any difference if the engine is cold -vs- warmed up?
If you unplug the MAF sensor and test drive again do you still have the problem?

I havent tested anything yet, but there is no difference between warmed up or not.

I'm having the same problem with my car... 2001 2.0L.... got a code read out today... seems my o2 sensor before the cat is gone...
