when trying to remove my factory downpipe, i had a bolt break on me. so how do i remove this stud so i can put in a new downpipe?

can you still grip it with some sort of pliers?
if yes, soak the hell out of the stud with penetrating oil (not wd40) and let it soak good before attempting again. If that doesn't work, try heating it first.
If none of above work....you may need to get it drilled out which may mean having to take the turbo out

Get yourself a bolt extractor kit.. they aren't expensive

Simply drill a pilot hole in the broken bolt and screw in the left hand threaded extractor until bolt turns.

Not really, they chip easily. just use a small chisel and a hammer.
