i was never really clear on the boost my charger should be putting out. i have a gauge and i guess the standard with a stock pulley is about 8.5, but what is the charger supossed to push 8.5 at?? as in how many rpm's? mine, seems to push the most boost if i am in like 4th or 5th gear and at about 5500 rpms. in 1st or second at this many rpms, it seems i am not getting 8.5 psi, but more like 5. mine does go up to about 8-9psi, but only when im going high in 4th or gettin uo there in fifth. is this normal?

To test the boost you take the car to redline in third or fourth gear, i guess fifth would work as well, but most people don't want to get their car up to 135 mph on the highway for obvious reasons. I'm in need of rebuild and i get 6 psi in first and second and 7 psi at the top of third gear. So to answer your question you test the boost at the redline as close to the rev limiter as possible.

3th and 4th gear should be ideal... because my C pushes 60mph+ in 3th gear

sounds to me like you need a rebuild. my boost was just like that, it would build up and not all come out at the same time. i recomend going to gruven auto werks, they do great work and have really good prices. http://www.gruvenauto.com http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
