Well, I took the plunge and bought an '84 GTI for $600. This isn't my first bunny, had a 80 Rabbit and 81 Rabbit diesel, so I'm familiar with most of the quirks. This one leaks but is in amazingly good shape otherwise.
I want to do the suspension first, along with working on the leaks, so my question is what is everyone's opinion on what to buy (shock/strut) and where to buy it? Recommendations? This will be in addition to finding and replacing all the rotted stuff on the front end. I want to make it drivable before looking into mods.
