I am going to be running some HPDE/autocross events coming up, so it is time to upgrade the brake fluid in my car. I was looking at ATE superblue/type 200. After doing some research I have found conflicting opinions on this fluid. The first thread I found said(http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=791309) that the ATE is not a good idea to use because the clutch/brake systems share the same fluid in the mkiv. Ok, but then I found a couple more threads that said everythign is ok, dont worry about it. (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=297503, http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=277834) So I went to my local race shops website to see what types of fluid they stock. They have the ATE but say that it is"suitable for all brake and clutch systems rated for DOT brake fluids." So I am a little confused here. Could someone please shed some light on this for me? If the ATE fluid is going to cause problems, could you recomend a fluid that would be ok to run? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Brake fluid question (NOVAdub)

ATe SuperBlue is fine. I have it in both our VW's and not had any problems. Infact we used it at a local garage day and almost everyone here is running super blue. Everyone has a preference, but unless this is your dedicated race car superblue should cover almost all the temp ranges we need.
