Hi all, thinking about restoring the front brakes on the B4 fwd, the calipers and discs are pretty rusted and are looking not so fresh any more, after going through a manual the job seems pretty straight forward https://www.carmanualsonline.info/volkswagen-passat-1997-b3-b4-3-g-service-workshop-manual/2 , however a bit worried about the brake line bleeding and rotors being ok, and because of that maybe should trust the work to a professional. What do you think guys, maybe there are some DIY guides on home brake renewals.

Easy job, buy the parts and diy. Buy a hand vacuum pump from harbor freight to pull new fluid to your calipers.

I second that. Easy job. Just be careful not to pump up the auto-bleeder too far. I've seen guys blow seals that way. But other than that they make bleeding super easy.
