If you are gonna upgrade to bigger rotors, you are gonna have to get calipers and possibly caliper carriers not to mention brake pads. That is why most brake upgrade kits cost so much.....because there are so many pieces.
If you wanna improve your braking without spending a lot of money and you don't plan on autocrossing or racing hardcore, just get a set of good slotted or cross-drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and metallic pads. I used to think "what good will this stuff do if the brakes are still the same size". That was until I did just this upgrade on my car and was amazed at how much better the brakes felt and how improved my stopping was. Granted, I don't race or drive my car hard but it's a good feeling to know my brakes were better than they came from the factory.
