Well its been awhile since I have had reason to come in here besides to browse and dream since I got rid of my 84 project. I was just waiting for something to come along, and along it came.
75
62k miles
Sat in a garage for 15 or so years
Needless to say I'm very excited.

The only really bad rust on the car.

nice car....take a good look around, make sure there's no more hidden rust...otherwise it kicks ass http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
If you ever want to sell it...I know someone who's looking for that exact car..year and color

Re: Brought home my new baby today (axe)

SWEET! I also have a 75 with 55k original miles from the NE.
I strongly suggest that you replace the left brake line that runs on the inside of the car. This line is very close to the pedal area, and due to salt from winter boots, it will make that line weak.
In my case I had just replaced the front calipers, and rear brake cyls. Then that line burst, and made a hell of a mess under the mats.
Feel free to IM me if I can help..
Enjoy the Rabbit!!!!
BTW- be warned that this may quickly become your favourite car, even if it is only worth a fraction of the cost of your other newer, "better" VW's
