Buying a used Diesel....What to look out for ? What about cold weather woes ?

270 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  The_Jerbel
Hi,
I am looking at a used 92 Turbo diesel, 205 000 km, $3990, tax included, 1 year guarantee on powertrain...
Questions:
1) What should I be looking out for ?
2) I live in Quebec, where it gets real cold sometimes in the winter. I do not have access to a plug, as I park my car on the street, so I can't plug my car. Will this be a real issue ?
Thanks,
J-F

Ummm, there's too much to look for!
Make sure you replace the glow plugs after you buy it if they haven't been done recently. That will help your cold starts. It hit -30 a couple days so far here and my car has started on the first crank, quicker than any of our gas cars. Any other questions I'd be happy to help. Diesels are my specialty
