In my parking garage there is another A3 Jetta that has a windscreen cover that reads ANOTHER LEMON BOUGHT FROM SOANSO DEALERSHIP I'm thinking their is a rash of bad jettas in the area

Well, first off (without reading much into the story) I think the guy paid way too much! I mean, as-is with NO warranty, a SIX year old Jetta for 8800??? That sounds like a LOT to me.

Who is a good VW mechanic in Louisville? I've always taken my Jetta to Volksdoktor and they've

I guy I know recommended "GTI specialties" Or somethingerother. I've never heard of them but I think they are off bardstown rd somewhere. I had Volksdoktor do some work with no problems but I've heard a lot of first hand complaints from them. I give it the "eh" factor of sometimes you win sometimes you lose

I broke down in that area several years ago and they helped me out..

well, i see it like this...
he bought the car. he wasn't forced into buying it. he knew it wouldn't have a warranty. ok so he had it checked but he should be taking his beef up with the shop.

stupid people get what they deserve, and then whine about it. fix the problems, suck it up, and sell it.

I had a similar situation with a top notch dub mechanic, the good Reverend Floyd Cable in Marysville TN. It was a religious experience
