I have a friend that has a VW Cabriolet. When she was driving it she jerked it by shifting in the wrong gear do to a weard trans. Ever sense then it barely runs! I mean BARELY! Someone said they thought it was her fuel injection systems might have gotten cloged form junk in the gas tank. Anythere person told me it sounds like she bent a valve or shaft or something not good. What does it sound like it could be?
Right now as I type this we have the battery charging (haven't messed with the car for about 4 months) to see if we can try a fuel injection cleaner. Will the injection cleaner help? Is it worth the time?
Any other ideas or advice would be greate!

If she had the car in the wrong gear and killed the engine from too low of RPM then it will violently shake the engine until it stops. It would be possible that a wire became disconnected during this time. It is unlikely that she shook up any sediment in the fuel tank to cause a problem. The fuel in the tank sloshes around quite a bit during driving as it is. However, if you have not been maintaining the vehicle it might be a good idea to change fuel filter. Heck, now is a great time to do a complete tune-up on the little thing. Change ALL of the filters, spark plugs, plug wires, belts, hoses, fluids, adjust valves if it is required, etc.

Did you mean "due to a weird" transmission? I don't believe the manual transmission in the VW Cabriolet is any different than any other vehicle and certainly requires no special driving technique. I'd check for a loose wire connection around the ignition area.
