Calgary remote starter group buy?

Hi all
I've talked to a number of local Calgary businesses and a few of them are willing to offer a good discount if I can arrange a good sized group of interested people. I have a mk 4 golf and a remote starter is
450-500 Canadian installed because of 5 speed and alarm and immobilizer unless i get a group buy going.

I haven decided which company is best yet . I will approach them again once i have a number of people and find the best deal.
It doesnt matter what kind of car you have mk1,2,3,4......passats....chevy whatever. You will get a discount off what it would normally cost you.
Prices are much less for older or auto tranny cars.
Installation will be included or if you prefer to do it yourself, you can just get a deal on the parts.
If you live in or near calgary, and are interested, please EMAIL me to respond.

Cheers

I assume this would be for people with auto trannys or have you figured a way to start the car without having to depress the clutch?

CALGARY!!!
nice city, been there almost every summer of my life!
FORREST LAWN GHETTO!
Re: Calgary remote starter group buy? (tobyc)

all transmission types can use a remote starter
if you have an auto it is cheaper because the manual uses a clutch bypass, but it is still available
Re: Calgary remote starter group buy? (superfly676)

just a note: I was interested in getting a starter too cause it gets really cold up here.
your manual says that it's not too healthy for the engine upon startup to sit there and idle because something about "high engine wear when cold ...drive immediately after startup cause engine warms up too slowly during idle ...but keep engine speed low at first rpms..."
don't know how critical all that is -maybe not a big deal
Re: Calgary remote starter group buy? (superfly676)

any suggestions on good tuners/distributers for VW in Calgary? (esp for 1.8Ts)
Re: Calgary remote starter group buy? (Spec-ops)

I have seen that also but I think it is in there as an emmisions requirement. if you drive sooner the catalytic convertor, coolant temp etc. heat up sooner and emissions drop.
I am not 100 percent sure but also, but vw may not have been thinking of
-40 degrees celsius when they said that. I can't see how idleing the car is harder on it than driving away immediately when it is really cold out. also the warmer engine has got to be better for the turbo 200,000+ rpms with cold coolant and fairly cold oil sounds bad to me.
Just my thoughts
Cheers
Sam
