i have a rear disc setup from an early '88 16v gti. i aquired 1990 style rear calipers so that i wouldnt have to change my brake lines and ebrake cables around, but the flex line hits the rear axle and will not allow the caliper to bolt into the carrier. did vw change the style of caliper carrier in 1988 as well, or is there something different about the axle itself?
