i got a 98 jetta vr6 with GIAC , eurosport cool flo , and magaflow..
just wonderfing if i can win.. my friend wants to race.. me.. in his new prelude.. he used to have an SI and i think he is still sore that i used to beat him in my 2000 impreza 2.5RS .. so just help me out thanx

As long as you car is running right it should take it without a problem. Once speeds get over 100mph he might start to catch up a bit but you should still be ahead, Just go and race then tell us what happened! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I am only assuming your going to be racing on a track cough cough street cough. I think you should be able to win as most of those cars come in auto and I dont know if you have a manual or not but it should be a good race.

should be able to.

it will be close.. if you skip a gear then he'll take that little lead and hold it up till top speed. same as if you use your torque to your advantage and get the holeshot, you'll hold him right there up until you stop. it's crazy how close it is with these two, and it feels completely different too. don't sleep on him cos it has enough to rock you if you skip a gear. no matter what though, neither of you will get smoked if you get a good clean run...

You should be able to win cuz my friend beat 1 all th way to like 100mph and he has an 01 GTI VR6 (stock) which are slower than MKIII VR6's

Be careful, they are quick. You will have the advantage because he has an SH model. Those are slightly slower with that ATTS (whatever it's called) traction and the added weight. I think it is like a limited slip diff or something like that. Apparently, it adds quite a bit of weight to the already heavy Prelude.
I raced a BASE MODEL 5th gen Prelude, and we were practically dead even on the highway (70-120mph). His was stock, and I had Eurosport intake, exhaust, and lightened flywheel.
Please do not underestimate the 5th gen Prelude, considering it is one of the only Honda's that have a decent amount of torque and hp!

Well, that would be the faster one right? They all have the 195 or 200 hp or whatever motors right? But the base model would be lighter I assume. Anyhow, I got smoked by a base model too.. he was already rolling and took off while i was at a deadstop. I could only hold him at the distance that he put on me from the jump. If you can launch correctly off the line it's a done deal. I race my friend all the time. I am running a stock (only K&N drop-in) and I win 9 times out of 10. It is still a close race, so if you get a head do not ease off the gas because he can easily catch up. Like the others have said make sure to capitalize on your low-end torque, that’s hat’s going to win you the race.
Please be safe while doing this. DO NOT put yourself or others in danger so you can win. If you feel like you are taking a risk. Slow down and race at some other time.

Werd... those prelude's are quick, once they get all that weight going, they go. I messed with one and beat him a few times, this was after my mods but still was surprised at how fast.

...so wut?...i dont care wut anyone on here thinks...there are FAST HONDAS...its funny how 172hp/173tq can take an 200-220hp/150-160tq car...i thought i heard the sh come with 220 hp or is that the japanse one?...i dunno but i raced my friends stock with the tiptronic, and ripped him...hahahaha http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

S2000 has to be launched at like 6-7k to achieve a 0-60 in mid 6s... or lower.. other wise
it will do 0-60 in 11secs !! how retarded..
