Can I put a 235/45/17 on the Monte Carlo wheels

I just got Monte Carlo's for my Jetta and will need to get new tires soon. I was hoping to get the Dunlop sp5000 or BFG Comp T/A KDWS as both are excellent all around tires and have a 300+ tread rating.
They dont' come in 225/45/17 but they come in the 235/45/17. the rolling diameter will only be a little more so I don't think it will upset the ABS/spedo etc very much. If am wrong please let me know.
Thanks

A 235/45-17 requires a 7.5" to 9.0" wide rim width. I'm pretty sure your Monte Carlos are only 7" wide so they
wouldn't be suitable for use with that fat of a tire. With the sidewalls being so short, i wouldn't recommend
squeezing them onto 7" rims either.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of. It seems that finding a tire that fits that rim with a utqg over 180 is pretty hard. I mean I want good handling but I dont' need a super sticky summer tire that lasts 15,000 miles. Any suggestions?
