kicking the idea around about getting a 1.8t,does it have to be out of another beetle? or even a vw? thanks....

nope, it can be out of any car that had a 1.8t, just be sure to get the ecu and wiring harness out of the same car.

anything is possible with a pair of wire cutters and a welder....
