No, The oil and coolant passages do not match up. Why not just purchase a 24V car, a little more $$ but less frustration!!!

The new Mk4's. We can also provide complete 24V VR6 4motion drivetrains from overseas.
You can either go the ABT route--which is much more expensive--it includes a crank, but doesn't come out to a true 3.1L--or you can go all-piston. We build 3.1L all piston bottom ends----$2995. In fact we have an all-piston 24V VR in our shop right now----in an Mk3 w/ Syncro as well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Come on lotto! I need a 24v VR6 w/ Syncro.

Just out of curiosity, can you use an older intake manifold? I think the Mk4 manafolds are ugly.

Just for reference for when I blow my poor VR, how much would it cost to swap in a 24 valve VR6 into a MKIII? Also how much does a syncro conversion cost?

You can't use an Mk3 IM on the 24V. Sorry. We're actually custom building one for this application.

A 24V VR is $4500 for the complete engine with wiring, etc. Labor on top of that would be over $1000.
A Syncro swap is about $7000-7500.

Jeremy,
Am I reading this properly? You're telling me that a new imported 24v VR6 with ECU and wiring will cost me $4500? Why did I think it was more like $10G?
-Dan
PS: when's your turbo kit for the MK4 VR6 due out?

Dan,
Yes, $4500. You probably thought about $10K b/c other companies(I'm sure you know wHo I'm sPeAking of) charge the moon.
We're working on it...still waiting for the manifolds....the Mk3 stage 1 OBD 1 kit is basically done...hopefully a month or two. Good things come to those who wait--we know everyone's anxious(we are too) but we don't want to rush it. We won't release them until everything is perfect.

well for you folks a 5500$USD is a good deal, for me it could cost ~ 8910$CDN and too that, add the cruise from montreal in Quebec Canada to Matrix shop...

Is it possible to fit the 24V engine in a mk2 jetta ?
The problem over here, is that speedshop are sellin ±6000$cdn + labor a 12V VR6 swap conversion in a mk2 or mk3... which is about 3703$US still + labor....
They are sellin stuff almost twice the price I see on the internet...

Am I born in the wrong place ?????

7k for a syncro swap? Hmm, what tranny is used with that? You'll be hearing from me about getting this done in a year or two(hopefully sooner). How much hp do you guys get for your turbo kit for a OBD II VR6? I've heard good things a bout your kits, just trying to decide which to get, yours or EIPs(no offense).

24V VR into an Mk2 wouldn't be a problem.

Well, the one we're using on our current swap is using a VR6 bellhousing. The Syncro tranny is an O2C.
On our kits, stage 1 is 275BHP. Stg2 is 310BHP. Stg3 is 375BHP. Stg4 and 5 at your request--whatever power your budget will allow.

Search around on the Forced Induction forums. Plenty of info of us vs EIP or ATP.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Jeremy

So who is getting this 24v syncro anyways? Are you saying it is 7500 just for the syncro, or total w/ 24v?

Dunno, some schmuck.

To clarify, $7500 for the syncro system installed.
24V VR is separate at $4500 for just the parts.
Pics of our lovely project car will be up on our site soon.

So what kinda money would we be talking about for stg 4 or stg 5 if upgraded from stage 3. And what would a stage 4 or 5 contain stand alone fuel managment or stay with the giac stuff. Because i was thinking of going all the way up to stage 3 then beyond, but if you guys will have more stages i could stay your route. Very interesting.
