it all makes sense to me except the part where it says the car only does the quarter in 12.99 seconds. i'd think that something with 508 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque could go a little faster. vipers are about that fast, but they have less power and are a million pounds heavier. does this make sense to anybody?

depends on gearing and when the power comes on in the powerband... since this is a twin turbo vr6 and not a naturally aspirated 8.0L v10... well... we can say that the power comes on a lot later after turbo lag...
edit: oh also, i don't think the viper is all that much heavier... the 4 mo sucks up power and adds weight...

the 0-60 for the beetle's supposed to be 4.2 sec, pretty quick....i guess it just takes longer to do the 60-104 part?

It also depends on the gearing. Maybe the car can hit 220mph?

manufacturer 1/4 miles are usually a lot slower than what people post on the track. Corvette ZO6's are in the 13's, Vipers are in the high 12's, etc.
The biturbo has very little lag, and the 0-60 in 4.2 is dog slow considering how much power it has and it's AWD system. Most likely will do better with decent tires and driver.
